A brief intro to fluorescent pigments for industries!

Fluorescent pigment manufacturers specially formulate pigments which have the ability to glow in special lighting. Mostly long wave, ultra violet lights which are also known as black lights are used to cause these pigments to exhibit a glowing characteristic. These are used in many art forms and also in many fashion accessories like t-shirts, shoes and laces. Many musical bands and wrestlers use specially designed fluorescent accessories to make their entrance and presence more ostentatious.

Fluorescent pigment manufacturers recommend that these pigments should be used with a black or white background which enhances their. When using a white background, all of the light falling onto the white part gets reflected and appears normally to the human eye. However the light falling onto the fluorescent paint gets converted into longer wavelengths which appears with an extraordinary energized glow to the human eye. Many art and dance forms also use fluorescent pigment based lighting and clothing. One specialty of these luminous paints is that they do not produce any kind of shadow like ordinary light. The light reflected back to the human eye appears clear and crisp from far distance.
By using pitch black backgrounds, the focus of audience can be easily diverted towards the painted area which is why they are broadly used in artistic performances. Natural light can easily dull out the effects of fluorescent paints.
Fluorescent pigment manufacturers make these pigments so that they can be used in colour and paint manufacturing. They are also used to mark ways for air craft landings and take off at night. Many decorative household items are also made from these paints. They are also used for the making of security ink for highly classified and top secret purposes. In pitch black underground or submerged vicinities they can be used to detect leakages and breakages.
